A lookup is a request for information from Neolace, similar to a formula in a spreadsheet program like Excel. A lookup expression like this.ancestors().count() is evaluated using the most up to date data, and it results in a lookup value like 5 which is then embedded in the entry or displayed to the user as requested. See the list of available lookup functions for examples.
